Elixir

The nearness of your opiates scent
Infused addictions sweet melancholy,
My fortress'd heart entombed in loves lament
Besieged by obsessions fate and folly,
You fill my veins, I am the air you breathe
We are the vessel for our deep desire
To you my life, my mortal soul bequeath
No quenching for our eternal fire.
I dreamed a nightmare draught of life alone
A life where you and I do not exist
Separate lives lived in different worlds
Never to hold you close or feel your kiss,
In waking listened to my aching soul
Discover, without you I am not whole.

Olias.

Fantastic, brilliant poem, very full of long words, which is cool, I had to read it a few times to get the whole gist of it, once I had, I instantly could associate with what your saying, many thanks .

The intensity of love as addiction...a rush like no other.  You've penned it well!
