~*~ Firefly ~*~

Twilight. Sparkling fields

Embers floating in the night

Fireflies dance for me

Very good! They do seem like embers floating in the night!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

Never seen a firefly?? I am so sorry....

the poem captures nicely the images...

I love the evenings when they begin to rise out of the grass..and hover with twinkling lights by the thousands...

Sea: Me either!  Look really neat on the site I found them - they are called June bugs too! Thanks for stopping in!

WS6: Neat, you see them? Thank you for reading about what you already knew LOL

Charisma: Maybe we should go catch some?  Those ones there are from Malaysia it said, thank you for reading this dittie.

CH: Nope! I live in British Columbia, and don't think we have those here, but hmmm I will go check and get back to you, he he. I read about them on a site about Malaysia and wrote about wanting them to dance for me, thank you.

Enjoyed your poem and the pics.  I've never seen a firefly either.  I wrote a poem about them though, can't recall if it was last year or the year before.  I'll have to look for it. So, they're June bugs, eh?  I've always said the old saying, "April showers bring May flowers," and then add...May flowers bring June bugs.

In a week, or two, you must come and play in my back yard with me, and we shall capture the fireflies....

all in a jar....

and then when we have many, we shall read poetry by their light....

and then, release them to the stars...
