My Dearest

In my silent world, shimmering
memories, coat me this nightfall.
I see mineself, a reflection of thy words,
knowledge replacing fear of losing thy love.

In chamber, pillowed between thoughts,
visions of thine eyes, staring into mine,
piercing this heart, slowing it's beat
until forced to take in the night air,
cause a gasping from thy last of touch.

Would'st thou be coming soon?
The gifts of one long to reach out,
to be held by arms of one so missed.
Lips have remained softened, in wait
remembering the taste of thy kisses.

Sighing, I grow weary, in wonderment.
This note, shall I send on wings of dove,
hoping to reach thee, before morn.

In dreams, I shall hold onto thee,
thy warmth of gaze to drift me into sleep.
I scent with fragrance of Vanilla, hoping
memories too, shall grace thy pillowed thoughts
and keep me close 'til next we meet.
