Asymptote

An asymptote is a tangent that touches the curve at infinity.

I was one, and a positive unity
That a mystery ruptured apart.
I have none but the one opportunity
That has strangled my desperate heart.
I am split by the one incognito
In pursuit, and pursuant to law
I am running ahead through the litter
To retrieve what is destined to go
Unrestricted. And still I am chasing
Not to seize but to steal – I am still.
I am doomed: never cease to be gazing
At the object of passionate will
That is dual but endlessly rigid,
Unapproachable, endlessly close.
I am running, the breach is a digit
Getting smaller; devoid of remorse.
I am eager to know, I am learning,
She is cold and unyielding like steel,
I am longing to reach, I am yearning,
But the truth is forever concealed.
It’s a trough hyperbolical passion
Will deny thus refusing to bridge,
So alluring and tempting a mansion
Overlooking a treacherous ridge.
In this mad asymptotic compliance
With equality shifting centroids,
Being doomed, overcome by reliance,
We are stubbornly chasing the void.

Brilliant. (Although I loathe the thought of Asymptotes... it brings back the horror of my Pre-Calculus days). Lovely write. Welcome.

I forgot to apologise for the mathematical (or near-mathematical) content! (Now I do.   I personally find your loathing fully justified.

Thank you Sunshine! By the way sorry if I do anything weird or wrong - it's only because I'm a newbie here and not very well familiar with the customs and controls. Thank you friends!
