Inspired by Gunslinger's "Live While You Are Young"

I Could Only Ask

you know there's no guarantees of the hour, day or week,
no matter what kind of message someone may try to speak
our time's our time, our allotment has been given
one thing can surely change it, it's the way we choose our livin'

but even if someone should say your hour will soon be up...
they really cannot promise to fill or empty our life's cup
so if you’re putting off a commitment to our Lord
it’s a decision that none of us can well afford

for we do not know the hour, nor the moment of the day
when this life will end and we’ll begin eternity’s new way
the sooner our decision comes, the sooner so our glee
to feel His love, His awesome power, His grand eternity

eternity’s a long, long time, and spending it with Him
is certainly the choice I’d have, though the path was awf’ly, slim
and whether I began it then or a moment before I die
when I considered waiting, I could only ask me, “Why?”

Although I dont know of Gunslinger's "Live While Your Are Young," I am happy you knew of it! This is COSMIC and I appreciate it, as should more. I just love the positive realities, period.
