Strands

Threaded together
One small piece at a time,
These strands of
Memories are all mine
Jewels, stones, and glass
They reflect the light
Of all days passed

Strands II

Strands of beach
Curve sensually to the sea
And are lapped gently today
By subtle breeze

Yet when gale
And storm winds blow
They disappear, swallowed,
Whole

So like these beaches
Are our lives and smiles

Strands III

Here take one;
One small stone that
Has been well worn
And string it with the others.
Each...
Unique...
The remainder of a time
Or a pain
Or a laugh
Shared with you
Put the strand together
And tell me again
How you dislike
Jewelry
