~*~ She Was Like The Wind ~*~

On a summer beach with winds cool and soft,
Full moon bright, and heaven’s stars aloft,
Two figures play in sand or shadowy grass,
A simple young lad and a beautiful lass.

This lad sits up and watches the skies.
The maiden, sitting in his lap, she sighs,
So content with life, they do not see,
How very fragile their dear love can be.

As into a looking glass through which we see,
Looking for a much better image of you or me,
This young couple just sits, content and secure,
Absorbed in their love so good and so pure.

Cool wind so soothing, as they whistle and blow,
Leads his hands softly to her lips, as soft as a rose.
A gentle caress on the cheek, a look in her eyes,
Soon, his arms engulf her, as she delightedly sighs.

One kiss on the lips, sweet as honey’s soft dew,
To this lad’s soft young mouth this all is quite new.
He then softly embraces his beautiful lover,
Bending down he kisses her, resting above her.

She smiles between kisses, and holds to him fast,
For she knows without doubt that this love’s going to last.
It’s pure and eternal, it will now know no rest,
Then the lad grins back and leans toward her breast.

Morning sun begins to rise, shimmering from the east.
Two lovers lie, inseparable, warm, reveling in their peace.
Two as one, content, in what was shared between them,
The lad holds close his love, his lass, his very precious gem.

She’s like the wind, a spirit free, who made that lad whole,
And like the ocean’s balmy breeze that lass warmed his soul.
First love, best love, remembered always, never ends,
Those tender moments stolen, for she was like the wind.

Geesh..Between you and Logan, beaches, dreams, thoughts on love, I think I'm going to be in tears soon. I love this. The music was clearer than any version I've heard of this song too (as far as on the internet) This was beautiful, lady.

Logan: Yes, wasn't that the best!

Temptress: This is indeed a beach evening, as other friends on other sites for some strange reason also wrote of beachs tonight, (3) to be exact.

Marge: Oh lady, you do so know how to make something I do actually sound good you know that?  Thank you and hugs.  First anything is best anything isn't it?

thecraig: So glad you like this one.

Beautiful romantic poetry!  A pleasure to read!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

Very nicely done... first love is indeed special and something we never seem to forget...and while we think it will last forever it is as frafile as delicate china...and once broken can be displayed in memory of what it was..but hardly ever put together again without the cracks showing..

I remember you…
How at 14 we fell
Through the excitement
And pain of being in love.

You, seeming much older
Than I felt I was,
Yet less in pain than I
Thought you were.

Tenderness and budding bodies
Twined together in
Clandestine trysts
Held for furtive moments
The hope of not being
Alone forever.

Who would have known
That some 30 years later,
I still remember the way
Your smile lit my days?

Or that the way you spoke,
When you were lost in the lies
We told each other,
Would haunt still nights?

At 14 I fell…
Out of the grace of innocence
And into love with you.
I no longer love you,
But the memories of
Those days and nights
Can make me wish I did.
