"Death, "whispered the trees with a sigh,
to an old woman, not quite sane.
"Come, take me," she replied.
"Come along, then, and swallow my pain."

"Death," whispered the icy rain
falling on her bed of rags and leaves.
"There is no fear here inside
my unloved heart that grieves."

"Death," whispered the bus brakes to
her jaw of shattered bones.
"Trade me, Friend Death,
some pretty teeth for this bag of stones.

"Death," rustled the scampering bits
and papers come out to play.
"You're welcome to this empty heart
that lives for the end of day.

"Death, whispered the voices
that clamored inside her head.
"Life is an agony play...
let me walk amongst the dead."

"A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water..." Eleanor Rooevelt
