The door is closed and I am quite alone
I've hidden in the deepest..darkest corner
Of my closet..the safe hidey-hole in my home
To close out my feelings as I've been another mourner

So many killings..so much senseless blood shed
Old..young..some un-born..never to be seen
By loved ones..family or friends..all gone..dead
Many to old and many to young to fulfill a dream

My thoughts are screaming in my head again
The killing is forever going on..no reason why
The knife..the gun..the bomb..will it never end
Tearing dreams apart..ending life and the people cry

I am still hiding and trying to find peace of mind
To make some sense of our human behavior
So many questions..few answers can I find
Am I being fair in this quiet I savor

I never want to leave my dark closet room
Here I don't have to feel or hear the pain of others
In this quiet place I'm wrapped as if in a cocoon
Never to see the loss of so many fathers and mothers

The light came on..I have to face the facts
I can mourn..dream of the might-have-beens
I'm lucky to know what my life lacks
And embrace..love..my family and friends

Oh Mother_Earth, I share your feelings there.
Never could understand the useless killings

But they are still going on indeed.

Move over Mother_Earth, I'll come and sit with you in your dark closet room.

Great poem, thanks

Titia, some days I wish I could just stay in that closet.  But you are welcome.  Maybe it won't seem so bad with company

Yes, the sadness is heavy over needless waste of human life ... As it has ever been.

Mother Earth
I love the ending and I know just exactly how you feel in the other verses....It's a crazy world out there and no one can even explain why, even when they try....thanks for sharing this!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

Mother Earth,
Who said humanity was sane? Each generation washes the old away. Although change is the key to time. I never could find the door.
Enjoyed the read.

I hear your heart and the heart of those herein, but please don't stay in your closet and kill what might have been.

For it would be so much like another life was lost, that what you'd have for others would  be so uselessly tossed.

Charisma, Interloper, ethome, Seymour, VAS...
I thank each and every one of you.  I know my life will go on as long as it is suppose to.  Thank you for your answers.  Part of me still wants to stay in the closet!
