Who Am I..and  Does It Really Matter

The tightness holding on,
I reach, closing windows, struck
by the chill, invading the once warm
thoughts of my morn.

I am alone, a shadow of myself,
not as complex as some
would like to believe. And
of no importance, except to myself.

I've changed very little, but emotionally
there is a distinct void, a hollowness,
of my own making. I have cut off
the best of me, leaving nothing of worth.

I have allowed myself to cry out in pain,
in anger, in hurt when no one is there to comfort.
In the darkest of hours I lay awake,
wondering why I cannot bridge my thoughts to you.

"I will be okay", I say silently,
my lips moving, but making no sound.
I cannot love the way I want.
I cannot share and be with you.

I am blinded, bound by my past,
yet tied to desires,
as I bleed my words for all, for you.
"You reap what you sow",
"Live each day as if it were your last"
"Enjoy life to the fullest"..
Tired, I am, of cliches, good and bad.
Tired, I am, of stumbling.
Tired, I am, of thoughts that erupt,
volcanic in nature, releasing from the depths of my soul
words and feelings never felt before.

Tired, I am, of words accusing, using.
Tired of falsities, lies, believing in something
that never existed. I am learning, not easily,
that life is not ready for me and I,
am not ready for it.

~Wynter

You're still Wynter to me. A very gifted poet with a beautiful heart! I have no cliches to offer you just my friendship.
This is a dark and emotional poem of sadness and hell I'm glad you expressed these feelings. I do love to read your work and it would be a sad day if it was gone from my sight!
Have a big hug from me and know I'm thinking about you.

Take care of yourself!      Eric

who we are and what we believe is important..if to no one but us...

I do not know if we are ever ready for life, r is life is ever ready for us, but the only way we live it..is one moment at a time...doing the best we can in the here and now, and finding it gets easier to do the things we used to think we couldn't only to have them replaced with new challenges...

as usual..I enjoyed your work...

across the land of dreams. In your heart, I'd always be.

I know how tired we could be
of life
of thoughts
of wonderings
of words spoken
words unspoken
and others lost

of ourselves eternally

Thank you for a very touching.....true read

You are a survivor, like the seasons, you are Wynter, the one who survives the blast of coldness in your spirit and the heaviness in your heart.  You are a poet and you write, and you keep on writing and never believe you aren't worthy.  Never judge yourself by anyone else's standards. Remember that, (((((((hugs)))))))))
