I Watch Butterflies

When butterflies fly they flutter in fun
Flora the sky and aura the sun
They dance the breeze and glory the trees
Hang lanterns hues where-ever they please.

Make rainbows where rainbows would not be
Dance on the wind in tranquilities free.
Bring color to the perfume of the ground
To every nook and cranny around.

They lift your mind to the grace of the day
Moments of peace for a moment to stay
They light the leery those cobwebs of dreary
Turn ghosts of eerie to hosts of cheery.

They take a dole of the weight of your soul
Offer a shoal to your essence of goal.
Give whim to a sight that perhaps grows dim
And color the doubts that lie on the rim.

When butterflies fly then life will ensue
When butterflies die then we will die too.

light and airy
the butterfly fairy
golden and bright is their glow

feathery fin
as our heart strings they spin
in awe of sweet butterfly's show

You see, Sy, where your lovely view and lilting words carried me?  Thank you for this gift in this morning read.

Hey Seymour don't ya just love Janet's response?

It's true they (butterflies) are so beautiful and you've used such great metaphors and adjectives in this poem to describe them.

Exceptional images!!

sy...don't just love them...they are so hapharzard but gracefully so...I like to try to predict which flower they will visit, I'm seldom right!   Thanks for the read here and I'm curious, what form of sonnet is this? (questions, questions, I'm always bugging you with questions!)
