Her day is slowly coming to an end
Some said she had a full life
Easy for them to say.. with suggestions to lend
Not really knowing what caused so much strife

When she was young and the world brand new
She saw with an open heart and pure soul
Then planted seeds of love and hope which grew
To help shape what made her life really whole

She wanted to feel and inhale the lessons of living
Know from her own self of right or wrong.. good or bad
What to keep and savor and what was for giving
Some hard lessons with pain and tears leaving her sad

Without a thought a family was born
To be nurtured and cared for forever
Each waking moment the face of another worn
Because she was no more...she lost her

Again her soul came looking for sunlight
To just be able to feel..know gladness of life
Be the person she had been keeping out of sight
Without thought..without hope..without strife

No fair minds..only you shouldn't..you can't be true
Please understand..she couldn't fly on the first try
With each mistake as a person she grew
And sometimes dark and sometimes blue skies

As the years moved by quickly..changes had to be made
Never anything forever..dig to find a different ending
Sometimes the ghost from the past around her to parade
The failed attemps to be herself not always blending

No one noticed until she was a bit out of step
Oh to just be..to just stand alone..to be just one
It's always easier to fade back..but don't give up yet
Maybe one act of rebellion is left to be done

She can live with the decissions she made long ago
To do some things just because she wanted to
To feel..to let go..to hold..to plant and grow
Mistakes..you bet..regrets..more than a few

When the endless night closes behind her
And no more change the yesterday's to make
Only she knows what memories are hers forever
And which she will leave and which to take

A fellow Mother is about to leave her earthly home
of sickness and pain..may her journey be swift and peaceful......ME

Thank you, Janet.  She is sort of family, but so much of her life makes me think of mine.
