your voice fills the space in my head
the sheer beauty of you meets my eyes
and i just know

i know you and i are meant to be
like two birds flying free in love
while the wind whirls around us
and life carries on with its hustle

there is peace in my heart
a love i've never known
the type of joy
that makes my heart smile

can hearts smile?--
I think that they can
as my eyes dance with yours
and we speak a language only we understand

the anticipation of being with you
consumes my thoughts these days
as i wait for the phone to ring
i hear you on the other line

and my heart beats faster
as our spirits sing together
you talk of your day...and i mine
the minutes go by so fast

what seems like mere minutes
is actually hours
before i know it, its time for you to go
my heart cries out no for you to stay

but i just know
that one day you and i will
be together forever
and nothing will seperate us again

Such a familiar situation to us all. I love the buildup and the climax of the last five stanzas. Great poem.
