REading SPitfire's latest post reminded me of a poem I had with images of dolls in it, a surreal piece that I was never happy with. I decided to revamp it and rewrite it, so in a way this is almost a new poem.

=======================

Neon Dolls:
sub title: Table ethics (version 4)

The dolls,
under neon vanquish
have their eyes sown shut
in constant protest to their commodity.

Infants,
you must not venture
into those red lights, for there
sit the Armani ogres feasting on youthful bliss.

To droning nightclubbeats
Over alcoholic ash strays
crawls this voyeurist/ virus
to my host seated in a garden
of ignominy and Fushimi.

"The desert is so beautiful but
it occupies my mind as an obsession.
Many a wise man have died in her affections".

My first host has her mouth-sown.
It seems a crime, in equal measure,
to be silenced for the sins
that Man fears confessed.

My first host cries freedom
from her constraints
It is western policy to comply
politely with cold currency.

Under silt swallowing I paralyse.
Wonder how I fell from
civil company to oral defilement?

Junk is the ideal product. The ultimate merchandise. No sales talk necessary. The client will crawl through a sewer and beg to buy. The junk merchant does not sell his product to the consumer, he sells the consumer to his product. He does not improve and simplify his merchandise. He degrades and simplifies the client.

William S. Burroughs

(sad sigh) It is so very sad but true how the media and the junk of todays world has contaminated the minds of youth, these ogres hypnotizing rites of passages and putting the slice into the slice of life, and in result, the children create rebellions against their parents! (sad sigh) I can't help but cry thinking of all the innocence lost, and if we can ever find a way to bring love back into this world the way it once was. (sad sigh) This is a marvelous poem Brian, it is one of my favorites of yours yet and a classic to me. (smiles) You truly have amazing talent! I love it!!! You have such a beautiful heart, dear friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

You keep doing that....you keep writing these pieces that come to me one way...then at the very end, your pieces whisper "oops, now don't put me away so rapidly, for I have just bent the read" and I go back and read again...and again...and again...

so I put it into my library, where I know I will always find it....

Noah, the quote I used was William Burroughs talking about Heroin. The poem is not about drugs but something just as dark. The image for the poem is something far darker than what may have been revealed. THe first three verses are quite important and contain references to the central theme of the poem. Thank you for your interruption of the poem
the poem does to a certain extent concern the media and selling but what is for sale is not ideals. Thanks for reading

VAS, thanks. I felt the only way to write this was in a  cryptic fashion.

Lone Wolf, thanks for your very kind reply.
And unfortunately there is truth in this.

Karilea, phew.... my god, you have me speechless and blushing red. I always try to write to make people question and ask questions even if they are hard ones. Your words are the greatest compliment that anyone could ever pay to my poetry. THank you kindly.

ahh the way your mind unfolds is like a walk thru wonderland with the funny mirrors that distort all the images till you look directly in the reflections eyes...
very cool version and rewrite...
and even better when inspired by a fellow poets work.
