Memories of you
Echoes, echoes in the night
All thats left of you

Promises unlived
Broken untouched fantasies
By a twist of fate

Echoes in the night
All the meant to be dreams...gone
And still my mind turns

A voice now silent
Words lost in this shadowed time
You're gone...and I'm lost

Not by choice...no choice
Death comes to us all...in time
Yours came far too soon

And I will miss you
With every breath I take
As long as I breath....

This is stunning and so full of emotion.   My compliments to outstanding writing.

Not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

Wonderfully written

Reminded me of a song by Klaatu that went something like...

I'll never have a closer friend than you
I'll never have such good times as the ones we used to have together
You're the one I told my problems to
Who through the years remained true blue
No I'll never have a closer friend than you

But all good things must end
No use crying for the dead and that's a fact
All my tears won't bring you back
No I'll never have a closer friend than you

The feeling of loss and appreciation here is beautifully conveyed.  Much related.

(tears fall down my cheeks) So much sadness in these bittersweet reminiscences of great love lost. (sad sigh) I cried reading this feeling the emptiness of your heart which deserves the most delightful eternal love possible! (big hugggsssss) My heart cries out to you and I pray your heart mends in the sunrise of true love very soon! (sad sigh) Such a heartbreaking poem but with such beautiful sentiments! You have such a beautiful heart, dear friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Such sadness in this piece.  It always seems that those with the most to give get taken first.  Your friend is at peace now though.  There is comfort in that.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

Hey...you know I could relate to this---thank you for the read...and here ya go, lovie--

My sweet friend
how you live on
within a silence
of smile's song.

Every time
we laughed together
a creasing line
on my lips gathered.
Tiny lines
to mark lip's print,
remembrance of an angel sent.

No my friend you did not die.
You live on in song of smile.

To you, sweet lady...for all the smiles you gave to me!

This is really a very heartfelt and tender poem Paula......I got quite lost in the emotion of it!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

....and so sad when this happens. I love this poem. Oh so touching...

I can't control
my destiny
I trust my soul,
my only goal
is just to "be"
