I tried to sleep
but the words
whispered in my mind
teasing me like
a million diamonds
just out of reach
that I will always
live to touch
To be covered richly
in all their possibilities

That powerful magic
when they're placed
just so
when the breath is caught
the mind enriched
and the heart is flooded
by all the emotion captured
in the wonder of
those written words

Not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

"teasing me like

Oh, I know this feeling very much, a lovely analogy.  Nicely done.

Tovi~
Many nights I've rested my head
on a pillowcase of poetic lace~

You captured the moments so nicely.

Very nice. Just this morning I found the most wonderful poem half asleep, and it left when I got up, before I could write it down! This is great, perfectly portrays the subject.

(sigh) Whew, I can relate to this kind of condition so very well, where my mind is screaming to release all these thoughts that are flooding my mind, and I just don't have the time to write down all of them because of school and other schedules! But now I'm on summer break, and I get much more out of my head! (sigh) I know that feeling of never getting a hand on those "diamonds", but it is also a great feeling just knowing the ones you do possess! (smiles) Marvelous poem, it really had me thinking! You have such a beautiful heart, dear friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

You know, Tovi, I have always found it remarkable that books, poetry, and music even can touch us in ways we never thought possible.  You have captured it well here.

Plots and Plays
that defy
even the hope
of sleep tonight

Dreams will again come
collapsing need not be
your only remedy time offers

Take what you can
study the writers mind your choice
surely a disclaimer is signed and hidden

"Hope IS like a lighthouse Keeper's beam"

Words lead onward
pathways torches direction
written again and again and
seeking sparks words unreleasing

should you follow trails unknown but
calling always calling words define dreams
linear clarity life multidunous yours page
heartsblood song reaches past forever to find

Faith is melding
body   soul   mind   heart
above all listen to the songs leading
singing in your heart now you know all inside
