When the rubber hits the asphalt
Just above the botton line;
When you're blown out of the water,
Will you say, "I'm doin' fine"?

When the writing on the wall
Says it's time for making hay,
Will you come up empty handed?
Will you still be A-OK?

When a barrelful of monkeys
Gets into the midnight oil,
At the end of your tether,
Will your blood begin to boil?

When the wine from sour grapes
Makes you drunker than a lord,
Will the bats be in your belfry?
Will you be going by the board?

When both ends of your candle
Are burning toward the middle,
Will you be tearing out your hair, Instead of playing second fiddle?

And when the other shoe falls,
Will you be seeing red,
When it comes down like a ton of bricks
Upon your swollen head?

Or will you say, "This too will pass"
And use your elbow grease
To do a little mopping up
And give life a new lease?

Delightful!  Left me in chuckles.

Not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

(giggles) Oh dear, I would never want any of this to happen to anyone, I guess that's the result when following the same examples everyone else sets! (sigh) We must all stay original and follow our own hearts rather than live a life preaching sameness. (smiles) Such a wonderful point of wisdom with a pure sense of humor! You have such a beautiful heart, dear friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

as the king of cliches I can really appreciate this poem. Loved the images.

"Build a man a fire, he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life". Terry Pratchett

Death to all cliches!!!!

How dare you Sir!!!  Don't you know that cliches have no place in "Serious" literature???

Now that I have your attention. . . let me say that I loved this. . . it's great. . . it's perfect. . . it's. . . well, it's just darn good!!!
