Cleansing

Today, I am cleansing my slate.
Shades of gray washing over me
as I scrub at thoughts that penetrate,
exasperate, infiltrate my being.

Searching, exploring, wondering
what led me to this thickness,
this coating, that resists the pressure
I force upon it's removal.

Heart-blocked, suffocating, stumbling
to express. Meaningless now,
marked for life, scars of loving
leaving the myst of pleasure behind,
and a wall of memories to climb over.

Today, hidden messages, rise from
invisable thoughts, layer by layer
appearing upon my slate, questioning
my every move, my state of mind.

Tomorrow I shall try again,
scrubbing a little harder, bleaching the stains
that won't release me from your hold, until
there are no more tomorrows of you
entering my thoughts.

What is it, some days, when we pull out the brooms, and sweep like never before....

Excellent!
