Back road dusty
And pothole tired
Another jouncing trip
Through nowhere
And back to
Now

Canopied roads
Curving around my
Mindless stare leave
Me in awe of the beauty
Hidden in open sight
To those who find

Abandoned relics
Of rust still cling
To places inhabited
Once upon a time

And I think of you
As I try and wash
The dust and rust
From my mind

...the beauty hidden in open sight...

ah yes, we often overlook that which is right before us....

well done, Sir!
