Oh, To Be...
Virginia Salter

oh, to be a feather floating on the wind
wafting over treetops, rising over sand
free to be an adventurer traveling over earth
unattached and sovereign, ignorant of birth

yet then my heart would be lonely
it would cry out to belong
it’s flesh would ever weaken
and be absent of its song

it’s better to be shackled
by the ties of love and blood
than to run amok and broken
in a meandering’s flood

so let me be not lonely
let me not be as a stone
rolling in the wilderness
lost and all alone

rather let me be
free to love and cling
to the joy of love and laughter
wonders that make me sing

across the land of dreams. In your heart, I'd always be.

Oh....."to be or not to be, that is the question" and it is always seem to be such a hard one.....

Let me be
all that I could be
and in that set me free
love eternally

Thank you for such a beautiful touching read

It's only me.......only me
I hope that would suffice eternally

Thank you all!!! I had rather forgotten about this one, you will see it, as well as the two others I posted today were written last June.

Your encouraging words and highlighted stanzas have brought it to ever greater light for me.  Thank you all...and Interloper, many people would in fact emphasize that "once in a while" invitation   as I so often write from 1 to 3 a day.  I'm trying not to write a new one today since I wrote so many yesterday.  This morning the sunlight caressed my knee and thigh with a lovely bathing warmth in the morning's coolness.  I thwarted the 'pen' however and just posted oldies and read and replied, so far.

Thanks, again, all!!!

oops, I also posted 2 or 3 in Spiritual Journeys *blush*
