When Summer’s heat
Drove us outside
Gasping for cool air
Like fish thrown on shore,
We shared cold drinks
While sitting on the porch
Watching moonlight’s
Dappled dance under the trees
Listening to cicadas sing.
And talking quietly
Of tomorrows.

Fall’s crisp air made us wrap
In woolen sweaters to ward
Off the chill that crept like
A sly fox into our bones
As we sat on the porch
Watching the bare bodies
Of trees sway seductively to
The music of a northern breeze
And talked about yesterdays.

Winter’s cold exhaled
From far northern climes,
And we banked fires against
Frigid nights filled with empty stars,
Held hands under blankets
Of cloudy down, as we spoke
Of forever and Spring…
Watching angels of snow
Leave heavens loft …

I want all my tomorrows
And all my yesterdays
To be yours.

This is so beautifully romantic....a real poet's view of the seasons through the eyes of love!
