I thought I had a musical inclination tonight,
but the moon has proved me quite wrong...
a simple rhyme would have been alright,
but my heart just could not break into song...

moving with the monotony of vague inspiration,
wavering muse inconsistently provided reason to smile...
and when I sensed I’d succumb to the temptation,
nothing striking turned up to redirect my style...

the moon glimmers couldn’t give me verse,
even with the brilliance of their radiant spark...

I knew I had a musical inclination tonight,
and the moon has proved me quite right...
a simple rhyme was the first to occur,
and my heart conceived the melody I now prefer...

humming to the tune of prevailing inspiration,
unfaltering motivation reliably provided ardent sensation...
and when I realized I’d fall into the snare of each mile,
that revelation surfaced with its sidetracking style...

the moon glimmers gave me unbelievable verse,
especially with the brilliance of their radiant spark...

-kh 06/07/01

I hopelessly, helplessly, wonder why
Everything gotta change around me
I’d tell it to your face,
But you lost your face along the way...

well, gentle smile, the moonlight did right, and gave you the light to write, and with those words you did smite..loved it

this is a very cool inspire here girlie...
first of all you know Im digging the rhyme
and that includes the inner rhyme ya snuck in there and the way you changed off the rhyme pattern...
aslo enjoyed was the repetative lines...and change of mood while staying in the same theme...
it was like 2 nights of moonmadness
the whole thing was a clever premise and conception...
very well done poetess snow...
love watching ya grow...

she said I dont know why you ever would lie to me
like I'm a little untrusting when I think that the truth is gonna hurt ya

Sometimes it's there sometimes it isn't but it comes back when you least expect it. It might be just the way the moon hits your eye or shines on a window....I like this verse

"I knew I had a musical inclination tonight,
and the moon has proved me quite right...
a simple rhyme was the first to occur,
and my heart conceived the melody I now prefer..."

Wonderful!

oh the muse does weave its handiwork

this is a sonnet, right???

I enjoyed this, the title brought images to mind and the poem was well written as usual!
