(sorry this read is sad, just needed to post to help me make it through)

had I only been there in time

I walk
I wrap my arms tight
I cry
and don't sleep,
my baby dog died this night.
An accident-and me
just out of sight…
Not his fault,
three and a half years old-
all rough and tumble-
is too young to understand
be soft-she's too little.
I cry because this time
grandma can't make it right.
I cry for her
I cry for me
I cry for all that's gone wrong
in my deplorable life.
I cry how much more
do you think I can take?
I want to rage against death
and the forces that took her
but it does me no good,
so I sit in my weakness and I cry.
I cry for two pounds of dog
covered in fluff, her sweetness
no longer to share.
I cry for her rounding belly
with long awaited pups yet unborn.
I cry for the little man
who, too young, has to see dying.
I cry because she was so special,
she was mine to take care of
and now
she is gone.
I cry and I walk until
night meets the morn,
no amount of footsteps or tears falling
can undo
what's been done
so I sit down to write
and I cry.

So sad to hear, It's tragic to lose a pet, especially if there are other losses as well. *HuGS*

Jellybeans,
You express yourself very well, how ironic you choose to be called Jellybean. Eceptional work. Sy

Dear friend, I am so sorry. And I know it makes it so much tougher, trying to help a little one understand when you don't understand yourself... and when so many things have gone wrong and so many hateful people thrive and a little bundle of love and comfort is taken away. You do have my deep sympathy... You've written your grief well.

I understand, believe me, I fully understand, no one knows angst like poets and you have written this so from the heart...God bless

(tears fall down my cheeks) (big hugggssssss) Oh dearest Jellybeans, I am so so sorry to hear about this, this poem broke my heart reading it for I know how losing a pet feels, for when I was growing up as a boy I had two puppies, and one got ran over by a car when I was running to save him from the road, and my other one ran away from home. Those pets were the only friends I ever had as a boy, and I cried for weeks, so sad I would never have them to hold in my hands again, to lick my hands and cheeks and something I could play with. (wipes tears) My heart cries out to your sad loss and I wish there was something I could do to ease the pain and bring your puppy back, but the most I can do is pray for your healing soon and I know that now your puppy is barking and running about happily freely, and so very happy it had the most loving and caring owner a dog could ever have, and for that it is happy! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so very much, and if you ever need anyone to talk to, please e-mail me or anyone else here, and we'd love to talk with you! We are all here for you, for you are a golden friend to us all! So very heartbreaking but beautiful, dear friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I cry too! Poor puppy. Poor you.
