Oh well, I do like this one, those are the colours the Dutch flag.

Thanks, I feel at home now (giggle, as if Passions is not my home!)

Beautiful poem.

D-day was in June
so many lives lost that day
defending freedom
proud flag paid for with young souls
proudly flying high
represents our way of life
patriotism
scorned by some this day and age
should never become passe

So shouls all recall
those bloody beaches deaths howl
the only sound deaths screams

Normandy Utah
Gold Juno Sword beaches all
walked in historys blood

Sand hallowed sand
where freedom to life homelands
in blood sacrifice

Lest we forget
nine thousand graves overlook beach
bought with lifes hope dreams

NEVER FORGET

Awww.....i just watched Enemy of the Gates and thought that the enormous burden that these war veterans undertook in protecting their nation should never go underappreciated....

so many places, so much pain, so much fear, so much rejoicing, so much honor under that symbol of what we have...gentle smile

the poem saddens me although I'm not sure if that's its main purpose... if I find the past unhappy, will I not try even harder to forget the past?

I suppose it's an issue about social conscience acceptance.

And in color
as well as in honor
we are all bound
to the past

appropriate words to honor the colors

Yes, back in the days when enlisted men had, even if it was war time and the motivation was to honor and protect.

I really have been studying this form and this is a great example of it, I posted one but it was all wrong, but I'm learning!
