An Experiment in Homonyms

They’re was a man
hoo had a Canne
above the eave of Merry

He wood wok a mile
‘long a country style
with awl that he could Carey

Awl the buoys in town
waring aweigh each frown
wood sit and waive there greetings

And the girls wood coup
and lift a hankie, two,
at each and every meating

Butt the man wood knot
halt at any Spot
untill he found his suitee

Then from within his Canne
drawing out, as planned
heed fined for her a treaty.
