I Miss You Both

Truth is…I’m angry
acknowledging that anger is simply
my adult expression of hurt

I feel like a pawn…though whose I’m not sure
acknowledging that naivete is no excuse
for having fallen such easy prey

Leaving you…this simple thought
acknowledging that I will receive no response
from those I once called friend

I miss you both…or better said
acknowledging what has come to pass
I miss who I thought you were

Hurt and anger are strong feelings, and I felt it when I read your poem. :'(  I'm sorry you feel this way. Hope thing will be brighter in the morning.

Distance makes people change, sometimes for the better or worse. And your feelings will also change eventually for your sake. Well expressed, JLR.

I understand all too well the meaning in this piece.  To loose someone who meant so much, but in the process realizing if they are gone, maybe you never knew that person at all??  Great job.

I know the feelings well, especially "Missing who i thought you were"

Though I know not what "Pawn" you refer, I have found that perhaps I have felt that way, while all the time being just an observer.

For what it is worth.

This is a very good poem to express something most can relate to. I know I can. I also like the "real" manner in which it was expressed.

my destiny
I trust my soul,
my only goal
is just to "be"

who you thought you were. . .

but you know who you are. . . don't you?

very thought provoking. . .
