the rythem is a beat
that laces your weatherd soul
from making a chance encounter
better than it really is
as you find a transparency
of your future self
not quite done or ready
just willing to hang around
giving you the jazz
that preys upon your eyes
constraits are better with friends.
then look around you
find the sand dollar you lost
that forgotten winter
on the pure beach of insanity
with a million other people
that live in a surface waste
that forms its own beauty
amongst the stars laid in sidewalks
that are trampled everyday
making the sheen wear off
as the lights and action
comprise its own self centerness.
then again are you here
to live among the ruins
of the 20's or later
just because you can
or are you here to find
that next drink to make you
the next starlet in an underbudget
sex starved nightmare
or lets just face it
L.A. has its own pace
that out siders find disturbing
for anything more than
a five minute stretch.
and insanity really is
a community in charge of itself.
