Have I Ever Told You?

by Michael

Have I ever told you
how I love the way the sun brings to life
each strand of your hair,
how when the wind moves it about,
I long to comb
the tangles
with my fingers?

Have I ever said
that when our eyes meet
in conversation
I search yours, hoping
they will show even a hint
of the same longing
I feel for you?

You arouse me in so many
different ways.
The mere holding of your
hand sets me ablaze
and I don’t want to let go.

When we’re talking
and we touch on a more
personal topic,
your voice lowers
almost to a whisper
and I try to imagine
what it would sound like
in lovemaking.

Like a teenage boy,
I sometimes write your name
over and over,
dreaming, seeing how
it sounds with my own.
It’s silly, I know.

I like the way you giggle
at something I’ve said.
I find myself searching
for something to say
that might again bring
the music of  your laugher.
I love it so.

I have no real wealth.
I could never give you
the things you deserve.
All I could give you is myself.

Catherine,
I’ll never be able to voice
these feelings to you aloud, sweet one,
for to do so might make
me appear the fool.
Instead, I’ve decided to move away.

I wish for you all the best
there is that life contains.
I hope you’ll find someone
that cherishes you
the way I do.
I will dearly miss
and never stop
loving you.

MAN...I love this one...always have!!!  Such beauty, such love in his words...I can almost hear his voice reading it ~ for he spent many nights reading his words to me.  [Long before I was able to be a member here.]  SOOO glad we have the archives to look back on...nice to relive those long conversations through his words.

Hugs...Becka
