Engaged

I am engaged,
when queried
“what are you doing”

engaged

with that which does not
let me down

nor cast doubts in my mind

nor does anything that
would otherwise lead
me astray

but simply inspires me beyond
and to you…

“I am engaged”

and return

to that which lies before me

my books, my paper, my pen

I am engaged.

Now, I like the way you put this!

I love it when this type of poetry is put out there....I love how the innuendo pulls the reader into a perspective undecided observation!    Great poem!!

people just don't understand poetic moods, they look at you strange when you say " I can't talk now I am having a moment of inspiration", "can't it wait?" they say

I think as poets we should carry signs around saying "In a moment of inspiration" come back layer. anyway loved the poem.

Brutal and mocking but always therea crutch for enmity's saddest glare"

Much said in minimal words.

As I seem near always engaged, I do understand.

Dear sister this is utterly fabulous work written with such a deft touch, as always your craft is well represented by you.

Continue to be Engaged please

I have a sister who gets engaged very nearly hourly, okay I exagerate, but only slightly. We have a saying that Marcella is like a public loo either engaged or awaiting occupation. Your type of Engaged is far prettier.

Love and warm stuff as always
