The Scent of a Rose

A rose of suppose aired in the sun.
As a knight dosed, with his nose in one
Holding it close in a ghostly embrace
He smiled with the scent of rose in his face.

He twitched and trembled in some sort of gleam
Gracing some action that he seemed to dream.
His mouth moved a bit, his eyes seemed to squint
And the smile on his face was not fit to print.

His breathing was heavy and snoring came light
He was deeply engrossed in this rose of the night
He groaned and he moaned, his knee went to bend
But the rose disappeared and his dream came to end.

He opened his eyes with the loss of this grand
And there was the rose still gripped in his hand
He breathed in the scent with visions of willow
And placed the red rose on the edge of his pillow.

With the rose near his nose and lace in his face
He prayed to go back once more to this place.
Though fantasies are a world of unreal
For some they have the strongest appeal.

Each moment becomes the past in its close
But the feel will remain as long as the rose.

Oh....can we ever resist the magic of dreams and enchanting fantasies......??

"Each moment becomes the past in its close"

Such wisdom gathered all in a line......the past could be a minute or a second ago.......

and thank you dearly for a poem with such a soft glow.........
