On this very day
Nine years ago
You left this earth
Returning home
To the Lord

I can honestly say
Not one day has passed
Without thinking of you
Or being reminded of you
In some small way

Today my heart
Feels sadness
As I remember
The times we shared
Memories amassed

The things we’ll never share
Because you are not here
Oh how I wish you were
Here to just hold me
At certain times in my life

But God had plans for you
With Him in heaven
Your work here being done
The time for rest
Is now upon you

I will always remember
The times we shared
Just you and I
Through the memories
You will live on forever

You know something
As I get older I see
So much of you
In myself it amazes me
How alike we really were

No wonder we shared
Such a deep bond
Of mother and daughter
Even today nine years past
I miss you still

I know in my heart
You are watching over me
From the clouds above
I feel your presence
Here with me tonight

I thank God each night
For the time we had together
Please know that you are loved
Today, tomorrow, and always
And shall never be forgotten

I love you, Mom
May the Lord
Bless you and
Keep you safe
From all harm

everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face,
I taste you on my lips...

Oh, so so sad, the tears won't quit. But, a good write though!

She'll be forever in your memories for sure! What a touching and inspired tribute to her.
I especially love the truth of this verse...

              "You know something
As I get older I see
                So much of you
                In myself it amazes me
                How alike we really were"

I mention this because I'm noticing that all the time in myself and it's something to be proud of!  Good poem!
