The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-06-02 10:11 PM

Touch not with lies, my aching heart
nor with your silken voice proclaim
a vow of reconsidered parts
of love that will have been in vain.

Touch not with greed, my hopeful soul
nor give me cause to hurt again
if love be not your honest goal
break not my heart, so long to mend.

Touch not with eyes that look away
nor make me see the blissful dream
if your full self will not dare stay
I tell you now, you must not deem.

Touch not without the truth this day
thus under starlit skies, we lay.

Truly beautiful words, Sandra.  Very well written.  The rhythm of each line just flows perfectly into the next.  Excellent work!

Lil' sis...
You have such a beautiful way of writing, and this poem brings your graceful way into the light.  This is touching, and that is not a play on the title.....it did touch me.

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...
