Day after mind numbing, soul destroying day
We return to this cubicled dungeon
Like inmates on day passes returning to their nightly cells
Work not in this place
Speak not in this place
For it does not matter what you do or say

We are as to cattle it seems
Deceitfully fed and primed for slaughter
One hand reaches out with disengenuous respect
While the other holds the butcher's bloody knife
You can smell the stench of the rotting corpses of those that fell before us
And hear the death rattle of so many dreams

Trust no one and watch your back
The putrid rankness of deceit is ubiquitous
We have a little something to give you for a job well done
You can pick it up on your way out the door
We know it's not fair
But we need an excuse for what we lack

It's not what you know but who you know
It's not what you do but how loudly you do it
Do not sit quietly by and go skillfully about your work
Better to be ignorant, just be loudly ignorant
For boorishness begets respect in this downside up place
And Coriolis is in effect in this Corporate bowl

*sigh. I worked here once and every word you wrote is true. Nicely done!

you may not believe me but i have shared similar thoughts at one time, true we all may be cattle herded towards our set out future but we can always affect change from the inside.
The party is not concerned with perpetuating itself. Who wields power is not important, providing that the hierarchical structure always remains the same.

"A minority of one"... the definition of insanity

George Orwell

enjoyed the read

"difference between love and comfortis that comfort's more reliable and true
Brutal and mocking but always therea crutch for enmity's saddest glare"

I became a part of upper management in this particular place, and tried to effect change.  Unforunately they prefer to keep their heads in the sand and resent hearing anything but good news.
