Dreams of Cinderella

There was a time I dreamed about
The places I would go.
The things I would accomplish-
And the people I would know...

I dreamed of Cinderella-
How I’d sweep her off her feet.
The future found this dreamy knight
Out sleeping on the street.

I pictured me, Sir Lancelot...
Out striving for the right.
It seems that others always saw-
Me, as the Norman knight.

My motives oft misunderstood-
My character besmirched...
I’ve never seen, that perfect queen,
No matter where I searched.

And now life’s shadows lengthen,
And my strength is fading fast.
I try to live each moment now,
As though it were my last.

I still dream of Cinderella-
And I long to hold her still...
As long as I’ve a bresth of life-
I guess I always will.

You keep on a dreaming, Gunslinger. Your never to old and Cinderella is still out there waiting for you to ride up on your
stallion. Love the ride you always take me on in your poems.

Wonderful.
And, you have started your own fairytale with Sir Lancelot courting Cinderella.
