                     “MONA LISA SMILE”
                                  by

                                 ~~~~
A flashback entered into my mind, touched me to the core,
        I saw you standing there, tall and gracious,
                just like before…
But your smile was so different, than what I even saw today,
        it’s an almost one, that should be in a picture,
                on display…
I don’t know how to describe it, but it was mysterious,
        and the more I looked I felt, as if it might be,
                amorous…
But how could this be, was it really both of these things,
        or were you teasing, seducing my thoughts,
                with new awakenings…
I studied and gazed from up close, and from a distance,
        not knowing how to understand,
                this smile of soft elegance…
Piercing eyes struck me like an arrow, into my heart knowing,
        that it would be you,
                for whom I would always, be yielding…
So I go through each day, and when I’m awake at night,
        I wonder about those soft lips, and I even watch,
                by candlelight…
I also ponder, if they would only touch me, for a while,
        would I then understand, your gentle,
                mystifying, “Mona Lisa Smile”…
Very nice, one sir. I always wanted to know what was going through Mona Lisa's mind when she had that smile on her face.
we all know the oh so famous smile. Your narrative is quite the ineterst itself, that perhaps the Mona Lisa doth refrain from.
Bill, leave it to you to come up with such a romantic title and then follow it with such romantic verses....you are through and through a romanntic and a damn fine writer about it!
"Mona Lisa Mona Lisa that's what men have named you..
You're so like the lady with the mystic smile....."
Remember that one....Nat King Cole sang it!
Yes, there is something about that smile!
Some smiles can create the most beautiful feeling in the person witnessing them especially if it is a smile from a loved one. REally enjoyed this Bill.
Mona Lisa smile........
I've always felt apprehensive about it....and mystified
But what you've described is just wonderful.
Thank you for such a good read......
