scarlet imperfections swept away with the current
no longer inundate the focus of my waking hours...
white tides cleansing my imprudent endeavors
will never cease to offset my skeptical tendency...

anything ever said to justify...
any endeavors made to hide my indulgence...
disguises adopted to conceal this offense...
futile in the comprehensive scheme of vast absolution...

the forbearing flood showering me with calming vapors
hinders my view of the transgressions that lie behind...
any trace of indigence erased from consciousness
becomes the sweet scent of salt permeating the shadows...

the seagulls’ tranquil flight quiets me...
the waves crashing ashore render me still...
garnet reflections on the sand spark my interest...
while the air, reminiscent of short-lived pleasure,
is eternally refreshed with stillness...

*thanks, JM, for this pic, too...took me long enough, but I did get around to it...

everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face,
I taste you on my lips...
every night I fantasize
that I can feel you on my fingertips...
