Pepper, Girl, I Love You She’s given more than she’s received She’s loved much more than she’s believed And in her gracious fragile ways Delightfully goes through life’s maze She‘s in the breeze of laughter’s tune She’s in the sunny beams of June She’s in your heart, she’s there to stay She is the light, the joy of day Her name is Pepper, charms surpass The depth of any looking glass The beauty from the heart and soul Glow in her eyes, her face, her whole She’s lived life from a different view In ways known only to a few She wraps the pain of long ago In paper tied with silver bow Within the fragile tissue’s fold What is and was we would behold That only she alone unwrap The bow of silver on her lap Her name is Pepper, sweet and dear She’ll take your heart and hold it near And in the course of her own strife Bring good and laughter to your life And so I thank the Lord above That I have known this special love For she is very dear and true My Pepper, sweetheart, I love you Big Hugs From your teenage friend Liz [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 06-01-2001).] |

She’s given more than she’s received She’s loved much more than she’s believed ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These lines say it so perfectly... I recall when I first came here to Passions... Right from the start...I would get these wonderful encouraging replies from someone named "Pepper" ... and I would and wait for her to post a poem so that I could return her the same grace and get to see her work.. after awhile she was given the title of "Passions Official Reader" and Denise explained to me that she did not write poetry..but loved reading and she came in here each day and replied so warmly to our work until her health made it too hard for her...... SO YES.... she has indeed...Given more than she's received ... Thank you Pepper...for all your kind replies. You are in our thoughts and prayers... thank you Liz for this lovely tribute and the chance to say thank you to someone who made a gentle impression. |

Thanks, dear friends for your comments, and Janet Marie for explaining to newcomers who she is. Yes, Pepper was a reader but much more than a reader. She is touched by poetry and in responding, actually has always given poets encouragement in many ways. She helped me through some difficult times. THoughts of Pepper unleash hundreds of recollections of times she has been right there for me, and from our conversations, I know that her compassion extends far beyond this forum. She touches the hearts of many. I wish her well, and pray each day for her speedy recovery. Thank you Pepper, girl, for everything you have done for me You are the BEST! I love ya Liz |

Thank you, poet friends for your response I spoke with Pepper this morning and found her spirits high, though still quite ill, I think she will pull out of this, with lots of encouragement and love. She is so sweet LIz |
