Little Fluffy was just a kitten Not even fully grown So it was quite a shock when I heard my poor Fluffy groan I found her on my computer desk Belly up next to the lamp She lay so still I gasped And then my hands grew damp Her breath came in tiny heaves Thank God she hadn't died yet "Where's the phone" I hollered I have to call the vet!" I dialed Doggie 911 And was promptly put on hold Shaking now, I touched her cheek It was quickly growing cold! And then a miracle occurred I could 'hear' my kitten speak I leaned down next to the keyboard Her voice was getting weak! She coughed with such sorrow "what's wrong" I asked in meows all I heard from Fluffy was "I shouldn't have eaten that mouse" |
