                  “SILENT BETRAYAL”
                                 by

                               ~~~~
I cried in silence last night, lying in your arms,
        when you were close, enticing me,
                with all of your charms…
A gentle kiss from you, but something different,
        wasn’t sure what it was,
                maybe your heart was absent…
The day we met we became lovers, I thought forever,
        like the rising sun each day,
                always a new adventure…
We had made each other a promise, never to betray,
        and that we would stay together,
                each night, and every day…
Then early morn you told me, you’re going back to him,
        is this another one of your fairy-tales,
                or are you leaving on a whim…
Why did you wait until now, after we made love,
        perhaps it was because I’m blind,
                just like a newborn dove…
I always thought this might happen, never knew when,
        was this the plan, to carry on for awhile,
                and then abandon…
Betrayal is the name of your game, I happened to get caught,
        but some day it will come around,
                when you start missing all of the passions,
                        that I taught…
At once sad and lovely, Bill.
It is her loss, truly.
why does love have to be this way?
Bill, there are words for this one. . . but, I can't find them right now. . .
you've reached into the heart with this one. . . it's all there. . .
Wow your words go deep. I've never had it happen to me and hope it never does.
BC
Well written with depth to your words and imagery.   Hopefully, this happened only in your writing, but if it didn't, I am sorry for you.  Very sad.
Brad Majors - thanks for reading this Brad, and I'm glad that you liked it..
Corinne - perhaps it is, but mine also????
Irish Rose - I don't know, it just goes that way at times, I guess..
Sven - I know what you mean about the words, and thanks for coming by once again, my friend.
Watersign6 - was sad when I wrote it, and thank you for the reply..
Blackdrake - yes, you do relate, and the shadow is most mysterious..
inot2B - well, it's not that pretty, but one sees the future and just continues...
Ariana - thank you for the reply and for stopping by. And it is a most sad writing.
Bill...
Sometimes we have to lose in order to learn and grow. I agree with everyone above me...this is sad, but it is a part of love that happens to anyone with a human heart. We all ache, and we all bleed.  I wish you peace, my friend.
The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...
