Gliding gracefully, like some
Serengeti gazelle, oblivious to
her impact on the day around her.
She munches goodies from a bag.
Neck, long and golden, held at
that comfortable angle really
beautiful women carry with ease.
She has been to the Farmer’s Market.
A small bunch of sunflowers flares
on her arm in van Goth tones.
Black skirt and top – a lithe tube of
warm angles and sweeping dimensions.
Hair, an upswept golden tangle.
Her eyes do not scan the hot August
faces, looking for admiration.
This woman is at peace with herself.
We crossed the streets together,
sensing when to challenge the cars
for our journey.
There was a glow she exhaled and
when her path went away from mine…
there was a little less glory in the day.

Love the images...from Van Gogh to dodging traffic.  Momentary glimpse of glory.  Well done!

Excellent...I often admire strangers on the street and if in some way they inspire a poem, the sad thing is, they never know.  Thank you for a very nice read.*S*

I have seen those types of women. Even as they age they still have this graceful walk, stand, and an attitude, I wish I had. You did a perfect job of describing them.
