~Little Miracles~

Sitting in a sunbeam ... on the cool kitchen floor,
watching the sunset ... thru the open back door.
Soft breezes come in ... thru the tattered screen,
God's artistry paints the sky ... in a violet washed scene.
The stereo jams ... my body takes in the deep base,
the sunlight warms and tans ... my tear streaked face.
Within this fragile moment ... I discover the place you exist in me.
The gift of this miracle ... for once, I am content to simply ... just be.
If I hold my breath ... can I make time mercifully stand still ...
Should I never move ... can I stop the arrival of until ...

~Trying To Find Purpose~
by: Vertical Horizon
from the cd: There And Back

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind

Chorus
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind
The wind and your love to carry me

Well tomorrow holds only mystery
And who's to say what might be
But I know in you I've found a love so strong
The sun and the moon look on in jealousy
In jealousy

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind

To carry me
Please carry me

thank you Susan...it means so much that you remember this poem.

I'm hanging on your every word
Even if you dont want to speak tonite
It's alright
I'm sitting outside heaven's door
listening to you breathe

What a beautiful peaceful scene you open this gorgeous poem of reflection with. This wonderful work turns into a touching love story from out of the past and out of the heavens. It's a wonderful time to think and renew your faith in the future and browse the pages of your mind's past. You are truly the sweetheart of poet's Janet.

Other than that you're just plain old VANtastic!

"We speak out like children
Of the dreams we chase and pursue
These rights we hold precious
Say it loud enough, and it'll be true

Wild conversation
And the hours go by so fast.
And you find a lot of wisdom there
At the bottom of the glass.

And when the lights go down
And the laughter fades away
Somewhere between the moon and the stars
All of life's certainties … they all just slip away.
And you lie down in God's shadow
At the end …
The end of the day

We speak revolution
But the future's already been sold
The masters of diffusion
Spinning their fine webs into gold

The matter of existence
Our ship wasn't built to last.
We’re sailing out on troubled seas
Nail our colours to the mast.

And when the lights go down
And the laughter fades away
Somewhere between the moon and the stars
All of life's certainties … well they all just slip away.
And you lie down in God's shadow
At the end …
The end of the day

Now, the avenues so crowded
And they're turning up the heat
And the red lights keep on flashing past
Tonight on Bourbon Street

But when the lights go down
And the laughter fades away
Somewhere between the moon and the stars
All of life's certainties … they all just slip away.
And you lie down in God's shadow
At the end …
The end of the day"

Such excellent imagery... I felt I was there on the floor with you. *S* And such tenderness and longing... this is superb, sweet poet. *S*

Within this fragile moment ... I discover the place you exist in me.

And you've described so well one of the "little miracles" that sustain us when life isn't kind enough to write happy endings... When we love someone enough, we absorb them into the very core of our being... they continue to exist because we do... and vice versa. *S*

What a beautiful portrayal of pausing and reveling in the moment JM. The lines above were so exquisitely phrased ... many hugs for this wonderful moment you've captured in time so tenderly.

Best wishes,
