He is gone, with his fists that killed my flesh,
and the punishing withholding of his affection.
For seven years I’ve lived alone and trusted
no man, finding his eyes in their eye’s reflection.
Alone I sleep and, dream the same in my solitary bed.
My waking hours hold no one, recluse I am called.
Well-meaning ones try to coax me out to try again.
By my stout refusals, worldly ones seem appalled.
To ease the sting of my rejection I cheerily claim
to be Emily Dickenson’s  avatar come again to speak.
They count my marbles then, and look slyly away,
letting me know they find me something of a freak.
Alas, must be this way, and I feel no loneliness.
What they refuse to see is that I am truly free…
within myself and Eternal Being is found love.
It is, I know, my friend, a better, brighter love for me.

For all things there is a time.
Perhaps you may offer that phrase to "Worlly Friends."

I have a friend who once said-"Sooner or later, Death makes a believer out of just about everyone."

Sounds like YOU have made it!  You are the one who did it!  What a happy feeling this must give you.  You are filled with the tomorrows that you and you alone will make.  Boy, are you the lucky one. Many hugs,  ME
