~*~ With A Song In My Heart ~*~

There's a song in my heart that I sing at times,
It’s missing some words, some rhythms and rhymes.
The words are a blur, somehow they just hide,
But I can feel the love that lives there inside.

It is a love song, of that I am sure,
As I search out my soul, to find the cure.
At times I hurt, as the song is deceiving.
It saddens my heart, and I find myself grieving.

My love is so strong, but my heart feels so weak.
Is my heart broken, could there be a leak?
Am I your Princess?  Is this song from you?
Are you just a dream?  Are fairytales true?

My heart sets sail on the breeze of your love,
As thoughts go wailing through clouds above.
I awaken at night in fear from my dream.
One tear turns to another, creating a stream.

My heart will go on waiting for your return.
I hide behind your sun, in hopes I wont burn.
I have nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide,
My heart keeps saying it wants you by my side.

Another lonely night, turns into morning light.
The song my heart sang, turns into black and white.
My eyes slowly open and now it’s all clear,
Hugging my tear-soaked pillow, I pretend you are near.

Beautiful flow and ebb to these words. I sailed down the page.

Absolutely lovely.

If such a maid wrote such a song
To such a man as I...
Twould be far more than I could bear-
I fear I'd likely die!

And if the object of this work-
Can read without one tear,
His heart is dead within his breast...
This much is very clear.

I loved it.......
The cascading flow
the simple rhythmic words
and the beautiful image........

This touched me ........

----------------------------

"I hide behind your sun, in hopes I wont burn."
This is a really beautiful and powerful image...
But can we ever trust that we won't be burned by the sun?

Thank u ......

It's only me.......only me
I hope that would suffice eternally

{{to cross a sea of wonder, and hold close at heart all dreams}}

Your poetry is amazing!  I did a smart search and have read lot's of your work.  I could stay here all day waiting for you to write and then I could read and read and read again.  You take me to another world that I never imagined existed.  It's hard to believe that this is all free!  Thank you so much for sharing your talent.

Hugs,
Tammy

Fairytales can come true
it can happen to you
if you're young at heart

Live for love. Without love, you don't live.

Watersign6 ~*~ Ah...you were hiding there, sorry I missed you, and I am glad you have a song in your heart, good!

Tammy ~*~ Thank you for your encouraging words, as sometimes my muse goes to "goofy" places, and I think I travel alone!

Interloper ~*~ Now you are not going to beleive this, but that is what I was listening to when I decided to write this, an old Frank Sinatra song was playing! Thank you for reading this.
