Silent Word

His face was lit the day he went
Knowing freedom he would defend
Not thinking of the blood thats spent
The torch held by him and a friend

They put the gun into his hands
Training him only how to kill
Sending to fight in foreign lands
No time to think that blood he'd spill

All around is pain to be heard
As fear and death assault his ears
Frozen faces with silent word
Dying so many young in years

His face still lit, his time is spent
Freedom is bought, his life did spend
Knowing it all the day he went
He passes the torch to his friend
