Suburban Late Night (Early Morning) Observations

It's not supposed to start
raining at 3am.
I've never seen it do that
before, there, the only two
cars on the street,
and it starts raining.

I think Scooby-Doo was
really a psychedelic 60's
throwback, what with
Shaggy saying "Zoinks"
all the time and the
funky monsters who always
end up being Mr. Johnson,
president of the bank.

Cupcakes and white
tee-shirts don't mix,
never have, never will.
But they still taste
good, just like chocolate.

Four player chess doesn't
work well when three players
can't concentrate on the game
and my king keeps slipping into
someone else's hand.

Yes, there is a four player
chess game.

Really.

I guarantee it.

I've never seen the streets so
deserted. So we're back to
3 am and it's raining still,
and even weirder, there's no
one else out driving. No one.

And so we rule the silent world.

I may regret this in the morning...but tonight, I think this is incredible.  And you are right about Scooby-Doo!

I've always liked the way you communicate your thoughts. And yes..I've read you more everywhere than I have ever commented.   Hope you'll come back soon!

Thanks to both of you for the comments.  This was written before an odd and interesting summer spent listening to Pearl Jam's cd "Yield."  Ironically enough, I was driving on the roads tonight at 3am, and it was raining.  That made me laugh a little bit.

my my...what excellent fuel you provide for me to avoid the essay that is due in a matter of hours...and is only half way complete - and that half isn't so hot besides...

thanks Ryan...you've cheered me up...
