I'm not sure, but it seems like I've put this here before. I do remember posting it at the old blue boards, but here..I'm not sure.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grinning delightfully,
Sleeping and dreaming your voice,
Hearing the swish..swish of my veils,
As they rustle like restless curtains,
Flippantly revealing then concealing,
When influential wind makes them dance.
Tonight the laces lift from warm skin,
Inviting the presence of touch,
But I wonder what anyone can see,
Behind closed and smiling eyes.
Tonight
A glimpse of me.
Tomorrow
I will be veiled again.
Forgive me my tomorrows.
I am bound by this, you see...to become Night's sole mistress, and I am jealous in my endeavours for his attention.
Love the depth of expression and perspective in this piece!   Love these words...
                "For I want to see you smiling when you read my words.
                 I want to feel your tears while you understand my sorrows and joys.
                 I want to heed your calls of relation to my fluctuating will."
Great write!
well. . . I've never seen it before. . .
and I like it. . . it's very descriptive and speaks well from a heart that only wanted today. . .
Beautiful, though not to the point of moving me. That could be because I rarely enjoy poetry though. Don't ask why I'm here, not quite sure myself. Self-indulgence perhaps.
Nicely written though, a sort of subtle smile about it.
Though now that I read a second time, I recognize the somber note, the plight of how very little of one's self is revealed to the general populace.
