I am trying to teach Mel the concept of rhyme so she can be a great poetess like me. When she could, she came up with the rhyme and otherwise she told me what she thought ole "Clippy" was doing or looking like. (Clippy is the Microsoft Word helper dude)

~Clippy"~

Mr. Somethin-Funny the Paper Clip
Had a magic carpet paper trip
He colors the page with crayon chalk
Clackety-clack is his only talk
Moving his eyes and dancin’ a bit
Doesn’t have a bottom, so he can’t sit
Googley eyed crazy with painted in lashes
Buggin me bad when his bulletin flashes
Is that his nose or a great big smile
Makin fun of me is not his style
Mr. Paper Clip named Something-Funny
Don’t sell yourself for endorsement money
Squiggly red lines and ones colored green
You’re our own teacher handsome, not mean
I cannot mispell one single word
Mr. Something-Funny your Voice is heard
Mr. Something-Cute I wish you goodnight
Thanks for helping us with this poem write!
Mr. Something-Funny please be brave
Don’t think we hate you cuz we didn’t save
Ride off into the sunset on your bike
Mr. Something-Funny you are who we like!

Very cute, Walt and Melanie! I'm sure she'll turn out to be a wonderful writer. But Walt, I didn't know you were a poetess! Is there something we don't know about you?   hehe

Just for Melanie:

I like this poetess
wayoutmelanie
her rhymes sound familiar
to me

Seems wayoutwalt
is daddy-poet
this is the truth
and we all know it.

Cute poem you two!!!

Well, wayoutmelanie... It looks to me like you've been teaching your daddy well... He's pretty good, you know - and your poem is GREAT...

A wonderful duo if ever I've seen,
A father and daughter's superb writing team,
Applause for the *grins*, for I'm smiling here lots,
Every time I see "Clippy" ... I'll think "wayout" thoughts.

This was a fun read Walt and Melanie, much enjoyed!

Best wishes,
/Kit
