~* Set This Tiger Free *~

I stand here naked before you,
Look at me – I am still the same,
Nothing about me has changed.
Can you not hear me purring out your name?

I feel a sense of loneliness,
Slinking into my mind,
The vines of despair and darkness,
Around my body they wind.

I want you to stroke me,
As I lay by your side,
Tell me what I must do,
To turn this opposing tide.

I need you to be the only one,
In my life, and in my heart.
I miss your tender mating touch,
You gave willingly at the start.

Loving you now is so very hard.
All the battles foolishly fought.
So much stubborn pride to discard,
When it was love we both sought.

How long must I wait?
Until I can stroke your mane?
And feel you’re my faithful mate,
And in my kingdom you reign?

Like a cat without any loving,
I’ll wait for your heart to open to me,
Just look into my eyes of love,
And set this tiger free!

Sharon...you know me so well...and yes, all of these thoughts rage through my heart and soul, and I know that someday so soon, this tiger will be set free, and everything she's longed to love and explore...will be close enough to touch......
So very beautiful, thank you for the many lovely gifts you give...they touch my heart!

Great poem, excellent presentation! *S* So many lines really touched me... why does bad seem to last forever and good vanish so quickly? *S*
