Beckoned from the dead of night
to lift you to my cheek
Softly I hear the promise you make
my words are what you seek

You offer ink obsidian
upon paper of creamed hue
Together we create a world
that's magical and new

Smiling now, I begin to write
as you glide across paper's face
Together, pen and poet
we leave this earthly place

We have become so use to clicking on a keyboard, that sometimes we forget how exciting forming the letters with a pen can be.

Perfection, Mizz P! Love the meter, and the second stanza particularly!   You describe it perfectly!

There is something so comforting to hand-writing poetry, as I do all the family ones by hand.  This was awesome, standing ovation to you on this one!

Oh my!  How could I have missed this one?!  This is peacefully simple and beautiful, with that flair that only you possess.  Mind if I join you? Actually, I go there often when I read great poetry of yours and others

Take care,
Melissa~

PDV ,
The page that beckons , the pen held poised,
together they shut out the noise .What will appear ? It's magic true , and why we do this thing we do . Nice thoughts here .

I read it earlier and thought I've commented about it but I guess I was too much in a hurry to do so........
and now I read it again
and enjoyed it again

There is just such a lovely magical connection between a writer and his pen and papers........in many ways they are his best friends.........
My pen and papers tolerate my madness.......my raging seas or quite lakes
and keep all my words a treasure locked and kept.......

Thank you for a lovely read and expressing it so well on behalf of alot of us
