To Each A Star

Within the night there shines a star
A special door that’s left agar.
A fetish given us at birth
That follows us around the earth.

I watch it when the night is nice
And wished upon it once or twice.
It’s form a bright of crystal clear
That warms our heart with memories dear.

This pure white jade a gift, a gie
To ease this life of not so free
It is a treasure, seldom known
That pleasures us when we’re alone.

I think there’s one for each of us
Within this shoal of omnibus
A gift to all when they are born
A lovelorn till our times are shorn.

Just stir it with a gentle swish
And it will grant your finest wish.

when I wish upon a star
I know my wish shall take me far
into the night where all is right
when I wish upon a star

It will arise in perfect light.
For I have loved the stars much too fondly
To be fearful of the night".

we cry in the night.
Its not the love you fear ...
its the fall from the height.

I think this is a great poem. It makes me feel a sense of wholness. Thank  you. Great beauty and imagry.

Until you are are near it, you will never see it, until you live it you will never know it...this is why we must not judge it.

Seymour~
Sometimes ... there is a special place in my heart that your poetry touches ...
This time and place is special ~

'This pure white jade a gift, a gie
To ease this life of not so free
It is a treasure, seldom known
That pleasures us when we’re alone.'

Your poetry has a marvelous lilt of it's own ...
Do you do poetry readings ?
You should !

Your verse is sheer pleasure that rolls gently off the tongue ...
I ALWAYS read you aloud ...
Love ya'

This was such a touching visit.  One is able to 'purchase' a star...but me, I'd rather just dream on the one that's already meant for me.  Thanks for posting this Seymour, not only did I enjoy your wonderful poem, I enjoyed the ones that followed in the comments.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star
Malfunctioning - that's what you are!
I make a wish, she gets the man
You're just not helping all you can!
Get your act together, please,
I want to live a life of ease!
What do you mean I've spent the night
Making wishes on a satellite?

LOL... love your poem, Seymour... You, dear man, are a bright star in this poetic constellation!

Well, I know a star when I see one. Being in St. Louis this morning, I spoke to JM by phone and her first question was "How is Sy?"! Shine on, Seymour!!

Dark Angel,
Thank you for the lovely.

Balladeer,
Didn't know you went to St Louis. See you next week you can tell me all about your talk with my Tinker Bell.

Watersign6,
I am flattered. Thank you.
